Course Description:

Future engineers and leaders of innovation are expected to have the solid engineering skills and in-depth interdisciplinary knowledge needed to take on many of the global challenges that humankind faces. This course is a 5-day introductory course for S4-S6 secondary school students who want to have an overview in engineering science at the university level. Through lectures and hands-on opportunities such as problem-solving and various activities, students will learn about the latest development in the engineering science field. This course covers 5 rapidly developing engineering research areas: industry 4.0, robotics, extended reality, healthcare systems engineering and 3D printing.

Programme Schedule:

Monday to Friday (09:30 – 12:30, 14:30 – 17:30)

• You understand that you must be available for the entire duration of the programme, from the start to the end of the programme. 20% absence is allowed for emergencies or sick leave with legitimate reason and official letterhead proof for the absence. Students have the responsibility to contact the programme coordinator and/or teacher concerned about this ahead of time. No exceptions will be made, unless prior approval has been given. You are expected to be punctual for all classes and tutorials. Unexcused cases of lateness may count as absence. Students who fail to achieve an 80% of attendance or absence without legitimate reason and official letterhead proof for the absence will not be awarded the HKU Credits or the Certificate of Completion.
