Embark on a unique journey with the “HKU Immersive Experience: Multidisciplinary & Community Exploration”, a pioneering programme proudly presented by the Centre of Development and Resources for Students (CEDARS). Across five fulfilling days, this exclusive programme offers a deeply immersive learning experience that seamlessly blends academic exploration with colourful HKU campus life. Participants will engage in interactive, in-depth sessions of diverse and cutting-edge fields, including Medicine, Dentistry, Science, Law, Engineering, Sociology, and more, gaining valuable insights into HKU’s multidisciplinary strengths. A highlight of the programme is the guaranteed on-campus accommodation. This five-night stay (with check-in required one day prior to the programme start date) provides participants with a rare opportunity to live like an HKU student, to experience the dynamic residential culture, and to fully immerse themselves in the university community.
Among the diverse list of activities, the newly introduced International Night session allows participants to mingle and connect with the vibrant global student community that defines HKU. The programme also offers a university admissions sharing, supported by insider perspectives from HKU students across a range of academic disciplines. Participants will gain a realistic understanding of university life, academic pathways, and the admissions processes. The sharing covers key insights for applicants from different school curricula, such as DSE, GCSE, A-Levels, IB Diploma, and the National College Entrance Examination (Gaokao).
To further enrich the HKU experience, participants will take part in HKU’s signature team sports and cultural try-out sessions. These activities are designed to immerse participants in the spirited environment of HKU hall life while fostering teamwork, leadership, personal expression, and appreciation for a healthy and active lifestyle.
Additionally, as a cornerstone of the programme, a collaborative capstone project will allow participants to practice collaboration, creative thinking, and real-world problem-solving. The project culminates in a dynamic pitching session, where teams learn to present their initiatives with fresh and innovative perspectives in a professional and cooperative manner. Adding to the richness of the experience, participants will attend a High Table Dinner, a proud and long-standing HKU tradition. This formal event offers a valuable platform for stimulating discussions and networking with distinguished guests, exemplifying HKU’s heritage and academic ethos.
This well-rounded programme offers exclusive insights into HKU, multidisciplinary academic exploration, as well as a profound understanding of university life. Participants will leave with broadened perspectives, strengthened confidence, and a toolkit of transferable skills, fully prepared to embark on future academic and personal endeavours.

If you do not have the right of abode in Hong Kong, regardless of the length of study, you are required by law to obtain a Student Visa for the purpose of education, issued by the Hong Kong Immigration Department (ImmD).
Students must to submit the visa application online as soon as you receive a Notice of Admission from HKUSI. The visa application process takes approximately 10 to 12 weeks. For Chinese Mainland applicants, you should reserve additional 2 weeks to apply for an Exit-Entry Permit for Travelling to and from Hong Kong and Macao (EEP) (港澳通行證) and the relevant exit endorsement (逗留D簽).
For students currently staying in Hong Kong holding a valid student visa (NOT a dependent visa), if you are currently studying at another local university, you are not eligible to apply for any courses at HKU. This restriction is due to the conditions of your current student visa.
One entry permit is applicable for one programme only, and the cumulative duration of a short-term study should not exceed 180 days within any 12-month period according to the Immigration guidelines. It is the responsibility of individual students to make appropriate visa arrangement before they come to Hong Kong.
